D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for an Attorney. Oversight and coordination of all division legal matters, with emphasis on land acquisition.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Provide legal advice related to land acquisition, entitlements, and development, including drafting contracts and related documents, reviewing title, working with title company, working with municipalities and special districts, handling closings, consulting with and coordinating outside counsel, as necessary.
- Handle customer disputes; coordinate with Region Counsel and outside counsel as necessary.
- Review and revise homeowner association documents and provide advice on homeowner association issues; coordinate with Region Counsel and outside counsel as necessary.
- Coordinate with Region Counsel on marking contracts and programs.
- Coordinate with Region Counsel on subcontractor contract documents and disputes.
- Coordinate with Region Counsel on safety programs, manual and written policies and safety issues including OSHA.
- Coordinate with Region Counsel on employment matters and issues, policies and practices.
- Provide advice regarding legal issues in construction and warranty; coordinate with Region Counsel and outside counsel as necessary
- Provide advice regarding various other division matters

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Juris Doctorate (J.D.); more than 7 years legal experience
